About
While Indianapolis is our home base, our projects have taken us to Mexico, Guatemala, France, Ukraine, + across the midwestern United States. We value the cultural exchange that can happen through design of the built enivironment + seek to draw on that diversity wherever possible. We strive to express the specifics of place + purpose in contemporary ways through materials + detailing. We value utilizing our shared resources responsibly. We are driven by our curiosity, which leads us to seek new tools + problem-solving methods to examine the familiar issues of living, working, + play.
Director / Kerry La Prees, AIA
Our Stance
LAB A+D specializes in consulting with Owners + Developers to: analyze sites + buildings in order to unlock latent potential; generate + prioritize design strategies that optimize User Experience with Return on Investment; and road-map the due diligence process towards success for all Stakeholders. As each project is unique, we assemble the appropriate team necessary to execute the Project Vision. Depending on project specifics, we can act as the Architect-of-Record, or function as the Owner’s Representative + Project Manager.
Kerry has 20 years of experience in the design of the built environment. He is a Registered Architect in multiple states and holds NCARB certification. He received a Bachelors of Architecture and a Bachelors of Science from Ball State University, and obtained his MBA from EDHEC in Nice, France. Since 2016 he has worked in real estate development in Project Architect, Project Management, and Design Director roles. Beyond architecture, he has taught Interior Design at Ball State University, and sat on the Governing Board for Inspire Academy in Muncie, Indiana. He is currently active with the Adoptee Mentoring Society, Circle Up Indy, and Mapleton Fall Creek Community Development Corporation.
